Artist of the Week | Ingrid Bird

Ingrid Bird, collage artist

Using magazine paper as her "paint", Ingrid Bird collages imaginary landscapes, which are occasionally populated with abstract figures (mostly birds). Serendipity is her muse and improvisation is her process.

Born in Montreal, Ingrid first worked in biological research at McGill and then University of Western Ontario. Inspired by her time in science to be an artist, she moved to St. John's, Newfoundland where she created textile art and collage, exhibiting in several solo and group art exhibitions.

Currently, she works at the Pettes Memorial Library in Knowlton, Quebec; and continues to create collages.

Welcome to this week's episode of Artist of the Week. We spoke with kind and talented artist Ingrid Bird!
