Journalist Taylor McClure hosts Townships Daily News Bits; CIDI 99.1 FM’s weekday news show to keep the English-speaking community in the Eastern Townships up to date with what is going on in their communities. Conducting interviews with people from across the region, Townships Daily News Bits covers a wide variety of subjects including the environment, arts & culture, community projects and initiatives, issues that impact the English-speaking community, and more! Taylor McClure graduated from Bishop’s University in 2019 and was hired soon after by the The Record to work as their archivist. Born and raised in the Eastern Townships, Taylor started her media career by writing historical features for The Record before starting to reporton current events, projects, and issues that matter to local readers. After working at The Record for about three years, Taylor joined CIDI 99.1 FM as our journalist under the Local Journalism Initiative (LJI) through the Community Radio of Fund of Canada. Under the LJI, Taylor created her daily news show Townships Daily News Bits, providing daily news stories covering civic & original journalism for the English-speaking minority in the Eastern Townships. Most recently, Taylor has taken on a new position at CIDI 99.1 FM as the station’s News & Information Director. In her new position, Taylor is working to expand CIDI 99.1 FM’s news programming & continues to produce Townships Daily News Bits.
