The Classical Music of The World

Host & celebrated cellist Karen Kaderavek presents the weekly program, The Classical Music of The World, which highlights concert music by the great european composers from Bach & Beethoven to Brahms & Bartok as well classical music originating from non-european countries all around the world, often referred to as “world music.” Karen also interviews performers giving concerts in the Eastern townships, and established artists who live in the area. Karen has performed as solo cellist and chamber music artist throughout North America and Europe from Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center to St-Petersburg, Russia, and Heraklion, Crete. Karen has appeared on over a dozen recordings for Telarc, three nominated for a Grammy, as principal cellist with Boston Baroque, & for many years was principal cellist of Boston’s Handel & Haydn Society. She was founding cellist of the Vaener String trio (with her current duo-recital partner, violist Scott Woolweaver), winner of the Joseph Fischoff chamber music competition, and has taught cello and chamber music at the New England Conservatory and the State University of New York at Potsdam.
